Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked whole-wheat penne

  • handful salad greens

Method

  1. 01

Cook the penne until al dente; drain.

Warm the meatballs and sauce in a pan, then toss with the penne and Italian .

  3. 03

Fold in the greens until just wilted.

Dietitian’s notes

  • Whole-wheat penne adds fiber the white version can't - it steadies the meal and keeps you full.
  • Stir a handful of greens in at the end for extra volume without sodium.

Lighter carb

Serve the meatballs over sauteed peppers instead of half the pasta.
