One-on-one nutrition care from a Registered Dietitian, built around your diagnosis, your labs, and your medications. Covered under Medicare Part B for diabetes and kidney disease — and by most commercial plans.
Medical nutrition therapy (MNT), also called nutrition counseling, is evidence-based nutrition care delivered one-on-one by a Registered Dietitian to treat or manage a medical condition. It is clinical care, not general diet advice: the dietitian assesses your health, sets goals with you, and adjusts the plan across multiple visits as your labs and needs change.
MNT is the most personalized Food Is Medicine intervention and the connective tissue between the others — it's what turns delivered groceries or meals into a coherent plan tied to your care team. It's documented in your record and, for covered conditions, reimbursable through insurance.
