The Program

Health-Related Social Needs (HRSN) Benefit

Oregon's Section 1115 demonstration, approved in 2022, established a Health-Related Social Needs (HRSN) benefit that the state uses to fund nutrition interventions for members with certain chronic conditions, with an emphasis on equity and upstream prevention.

Climate and nutrition supports are delivered through the state's Coordinated Care Organizations, connecting clinical eligibility to community-based food delivery.
