Washington's Medicaid Transformation Project adds a full menu of nutrition supports as a health-related social needs benefit.
Under the Medicaid Transformation Project (MTP 2.0), Washington's Health Care Authority received CMS approval to provide nutrition support services as a health-related social needs (HRSN) benefit within Apple Health (Medicaid).
The benefit covers a broad nutrition menu and is rolling out through 2026 in partnership with Area Agencies on Aging and other provider networks. Eligibility requires Apple Health enrollment, USDA-defined low or very low food security, and qualifying program participation or clinical criteria.
