Dietitian’s tip

The oats' soluble fiber plus the peanut butter's protein and fat slow digestion, softening the morning carb load. Stick to half a banana.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup skim milk
  • 1/2 banana, sliced

Method

  1. 01

Stir the oats, peanut butter, and milk together in a jar.

  2. 02

    Top with the banana slices.

  3. 03

Cover and refrigerate overnight; stir before eating.

Dietitian’s notes

  • Stir the peanut butter in while the milk is at room temperature so it blends smoothly.
  • Let it sit at least four hours - overnight is best - so the oats soften fully.
